Farmerline is proudly partnering with the ACP-EU Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Co-operation (CTA) on the “Apps4Ag Learning Opportunities” initiative, which aims at  building the capacity of at least 500 users and potential end users of m-apps for Agriculture through training workshops in Ghana, in 2015.

Mobile based technological tools for agriculture abound, but the real challenge is about making sure that the actual users of such technology have been equipped with or acquired the level of capacity needed in using and benefiting from such mobile applications (m-apps). In light of this, Farmerline is pleased to announce a partnership with the ACP-EU Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Co-operation (CTA) in building the capacity of real and potential end users of m-apps. CTA has appointed Farmerline as a value added service provider for the hosting of twenty (20) m-apps training workshops, across 6 regions in Ghana (Ashanti, Brong-Ahafo, Greater Accra, Northern, Upper East and West), with real end users under the CTA program “Apps4Ag Learning Opportunities”. The workshops are being organized to train and provide hands-on experience to at least a total of 500 users and potential users of the Farmerline’s innovative m-apps and agricultural information services. The purpose of the training workshops is to equip and build the capacity of the target users of m-apps to ensure successful adoption and use. Smallholder farmers, Extension Officers, M&E staff of agribusinesses, NGOs and government agriculture workers will have the opportunity to learn how to access and utilize Farmerline’s mobile apps and agricultural information services to improve critical farming operations and make marketing decisions anytime anywhere. Agricultural and extension workers will learn how to efficiently use the Farmerline platform to improve support and communication with farmers while monitoring and evaluation (M&E) workers will be trained to use the platform for efficient data collection for M&E purposes. Farmerline will perform thorough follow-ups of the trained participants to ensure that they can utilize what they have learned during the trainings workshops. This work will benefit m-app users and other potential users by learning how to access and utilize key agricultural information services and mobile applications to improve farm productivity, communication and market access. Farmerline is proud to partner with CTA on this project and looks forward to support CTA’s efforts to ensure the uptake, utilization and up-scaling of innovative and tested apps for agriculture among end-users.
